Ssamjang – Spicy Korean Sauce

Ssamjang is a thick, spicy paste used with food wrapped in a leaf in Korean cuisine. The sauce is made of doenjang, gochujang, sesame oil, onion, garlic, green onions, and optionally brown sugar.

Ingredients

¼ cup Soybean Paste (Doenjang)

2 tablespoons Gochujang

1 tablespoon sesame oil

1 tablespoon honey or brown sugar

1 clove minced garlic

4 thinly sliced spring onions

1 tablespoon toasted sesame Seeds

2 tablespoons sweet mirin

 

 

Instructions

In a bowl, mix together all ingredients until well combined. Serve as a dipping sauce for meats and vegetables.
